We ship domestic US orders with UPS, and international orders with UPS or DHL. We do not use USPS.
We charge taxes and fees required by the State of Colorado. We do not collect VAT or other import charges.
If you are outside the United States, your order will very likely be charged import VAT, customs duty, and a carrier handling fee when it arrives. You pay those, not us, and they are not included in the price you see at checkout. How much depends on your country. A rough guide: in most of the EU and the UK, expect import VAT at your national rate on the value of the goods plus shipping, plus a carrier fee for collecting it.
If the carrier cannot collect those charges the parcel is returned to us, and we refund the order less the shipping we paid in both directions.
We would rather tell you this plainly up front than have you meet it at the door.
Our software is free. If import charges make the hardware a bad deal for you, you can download StartOS and run it on your own machine at no cost — https://start9.com. Buying hardware from us gets you a warranty, a lifetime support membership, and it funds the free software, but it is not the only way to run it.
